Marple is a small town in the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport, on the River Goyt, 9 miles southeast of Manchester, 9 miles north of Macclesfield and 4 miles southeast of Stockport. Marple attracts visitors to and from the nearby canal and lock networks of the Macclesfied canal and Peak Forest Canal. It lies approx. 3 miles from Stockport and has its own commercial and shopping area. There are two train stations within walking distance of the pubs, Rose Hill and Marple, with fantastic network links into Manchester. The Bulls Head sits in the middle of the town in the main pedestrian shopping precinct just off the main Stockport Road.
