Welcome from William

There are many pub operators and family brewers, all looking for the best licensees to run their pubs, so why would you choose us?

Our history

The Robinsons’ story began on the 29th September 1838, when William Robinson decided to buy a small pub in Stockport called The Unicorn Inn. Since then, we've remained a family-run business, nurturing skills and knowledge that are developed and passed down from generation to generation.

Our approach

What we do is more than just a profession, it’s our passion… and it’s helped us grow into one of the largest independently run family brewers and pub businesses in the UK. Complementing the brewery, we have around 260 tenanted and managed pubs across Wales and the North West.

Or the fact we’re good to work with

We recognise that every new relationship we create signals the start of an exciting partnership; one that’s based on trust and a mutual appreciation of fantastic beer enjoyed in a welcoming environment.

We’re a modern business that’s committed to investing in our pub estate and offering our licensee partners the right support at each step of our journey together. This gives you the very best chance of running successful businesses.

As well as opportunities to run your own pub, we also have a number of great opportunities in our managed pubs. From management to front of house, hotel and restaurant roles, opportunities abound throughout the estate.

Finally, we believe our customers deserve more than just great beer. So we support all our licensees with things like; cellar and customer service training, in improving their food offer and with marketing support to optimise the effectiveness of your websites and social media. In a nutshell, we have the skills in-house, that are focused on driving your success, as well as ours.

My promise to you, is that as a Robinsons licensee, you can rely on us through thick and thin, to help you grow and prosper. After all… that’s what families are all about.

Managing Director, Robinsons Brewery (Pub Division)

Code of practice

The Code of Practice (referred to hereafter as the Code) describes the minimum requirements governing the operation of tied public houses by companies with less than 500 tied premises. Companies with 500 or more tied premises are governed by statutory legislation, namely the Pubs Code and Adjudicator regulations 2016. Take a look at our handy guide, you’ll need this for running a pub.
