A little more about us
Ye Olde Boote Inn celebrated its 300th birthday in 2012. This site dates back to the 16th Century providing a Coach House for visitors to Whittington Castle and a stopover on their journey to Wales. These days, 'The Boote', as it is known to the locals, is a charming family run Inn serving cask beers, traditional home cooked food and an extensive choice of wines.
Our six en-suite letting bedrooms overlook the magnificent Whittington Castle and Moat teaming with wildlife. Your stay with us will give you a great base to explore the beautiful countryside of Shropshire and North Wales.
With such a central position, we are the perfect venue for visiting Oswestry, Llangollen, Wrexham, Ellesmere, Welshpool, Shrewsbury, or Chester. We have an especially good relationship with The Royal Jones and Agnes Orthopaedic Hospital. Providing quality and comfort for those visiting.
We pride ourselves that we use local suppliers, support local business, employ local people, and encourage local charities. We also know how to have a bit of a “shin-dig”! Every Bank Holiday, along with Valentine's and Halloween, we hold one of our now world-famous Pub Quiz nights. Free to enter, with entertainment and prizes.
In September we run our Beer Festival, combining live music, with great food, and Robinsons' real ale cask selection, with samplings, collector giveaways, and plenty of atmosphere. In December we host the Whittington Village Community Carol Service. Bringing together the Village School, Village Church, Castle, Village shop, and whole community. This event draws over 500 people and proves that Ye Olde Boote Inn is at the very heart of the community.
