The Star & Garter is a welcoming three storey Victorian pub standing at the top of Hillgate, the road that was once the main trunk road through Stockport. Today the Star & Garter is a busy, friendly, family run community pub.

Live sport and traditional pub games have a strong following at the Star & Garter, Darts being especially strong with many County and National throwers often being seen on the Oche at the Star & Garter. The walled cobbled courtyard to the rear is a real suntrap and provides a safe environment for families to relax and enjoy the sun during the summer months.
