A little more about us

During the restoration it has undergone a complete transformation and been given a new name. We have three distinct trading areas; a tap room, a snug and a main lounge served by a single bar. The Flying Coach (formerly called The Cock), had a complete transformation in May 2015. Bullock Smithy was the original name for what is now Hazel Grove, where Stagecoaches ran through the village and in 1754 the ‘Flying Coach’ took 4 days to complete the trip from Manchester to London, of which this pub was one of the many coaching inns along the way – Thus the new name! Our interior décor is a real draw with our fire place in the main lounge, along with flying shuttles on the walls and other eye-catching items. Our beer garden is a great place to be on a lovely sunny day, enjoying a drink or munching through one of our handmade sour dough pizzas - it does however have heaters should the weather take a turn for the worse! We are also dog friendly, and even have our own pub dog Douglas who loves making new friends! Each area within features unique styling to help bring out the historic features already present in the building. Our tap room also doubles as a games room where we have chess/draughts boards as well as dominoes to keep you entertained. We boast a large patron’s car park at the rear where you are welcome to leave your car if you enjoy our beer to much! We serve award winning cask ales and have an extensive spirit collection, featuring many Gins, Rums, Whiskeys, Bourbons and more. We host regular live entertainment throughout the month and have a quiz starting soon - please check social media for updates on this.
