A little more about us

The Crown & Cushion sits in the centre of the Appley Market Town. The town attracts many visitors to take the trains along the famous Settle railway line. Appleby Castle and some quirky shops and cafes add to the charm. Appleby is famous for the annual traveller's fair which boosts the population from five thousand or so to forty thousand, spread over a week. The atmosphere during the fair is vibrant and lively and well worth a visit. The Cushion as it known to the locals offers a traditional bar with a separate pool and games area and has a wide selection of cask ales, lagers and keg beers. We are a family friendly pub who likes the company of our well behaved, four legged friends, but they must be kept on their leads. We have large multi-screen displayed around the pub, showcasing the Live Sky and BT Sports. There is a separate dining room which caters for larger groups and functions to host special occasions which can be catered for. We can also arrange a complimentary private room for business meetings, which catering can be arranged for to suit your needs, from breakfast, coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. The pub has three comfortable en-suite letting rooms, all have tea & coffee making facilities, toiletries and TV's to add the home from home comfort.
