Y BRYNCYNAN IN MORFA NEFYN REOPENS FOLLOWING £1M INVESTMENT

Locals and visitors to Wales have said ‘Croeso’ to a new look for the popular Y Bryncynan pub, located at the main cross roads at Morfa Nefyn on the beautiful Lleyn Peninsular. Set in picturesque grounds, with some parts of the building understood to be over 200 years old, the family-friendly pub has had a complete transformation following a £1M investment by Stockport based brewers Robinsons. The re-opening which was originally planned for late March had to be delayed, but with restrictions now being lifted, the pub has re-opened completely.

Retail Operations Manager, Ellis Wardle explained: “Y Bryncynan is a great example of a pub that can be enjoyed by everyone no matter what age. We were very keen to ensure that the pub can serve both its local community around Nefyn and Pwllheli, whilst still catering to holiday makers who travel to the area. I know Heidi and the team are raring to go and can’t wait to welcome everyone back. We also have all the necessary COVID secure measures in place to ensure customers feel as safe as possible.”

Internally, the pub has benefited from a stunning new oak bar and has been tastefully re-decorated while retaining all the character of the original building. The design carefully retained the ‘locals’ bar area, providing a quiet corner away from the hustle and bustle of the main serving area. Alongside a bar stocked full of award-winning Robinsons’ ales, guests can enjoy a tipple from an eclectic range of gins, wines, spirits and soft drinks.

The scrumptious new menu includes a great range of mouth-watering pub classics, with favourites such as steak and ale pie made with Robinsons’ beloved Unicorn ale, stone baked pizzas and delicious beer battered fish with hand cut chips. The pub will also serve a traditional Sunday roast each week, providing the perfect end to a busy day for those who work locally, exploring this beautiful corner of Wales or returning from a day at the beach.

Retaining the pub’s Welsh charm, stone walls remain an alluring focal point inside the pub, together with traditional wooden beams on the ceiling and cosy log fires for those cooler evenings.

There has been an extension to the dining area allowing for additional covers, and a brand-new patio area with a terrace of private beach huts for guests to take full advantage of.

The external seating area and large garden enjoy spectacular views while featuring a fun children’s play area to keep the little ones entertained making the outside dining and drinking suitable come rain or shine. With the pub being proudly dog-friendly, every member of the family can enjoy a day out in beautiful surroundings.

General Manager at Y Bryncynan, Heidi Bakewell, said: “It’s been a long couple of months, and we’ve been itching to reopen, so you can imagine the relief now that we have finally opened our doors again. The changes to the pub are incredible and we’ve already had many of our locals express how pleased they are with the new look.”
